About
Yao Chen is Born In China in 1999. She moves to Melbourne in 2017 Where She Currently Lives And Work. Yao is a multidisciplinary conceptual artist specializing in multimedia installations that encompass sculptures, paintings, performances, and process arts. Yao’s work draws profound inspiration from the ancient Taoist philosophy of "Emptiness," exploring the concepts of value, meaning, and time cosmology with a critical lens.
Yao is an artist and spiritual worker deeply inspired by Taoist philosophy, with a profound connection to the concept of emptiness, or "Wu Wei." Guided by the principles of Taoism, Yao's creative journey emphasizes the harmonization with nature and the universe, allowing for a slow, peaceful, and profound experience of life.
Yao's artistic expression centers around the exploration of the beauty found within emptiness. It is Yao's belief that within this apparent void lies boundless potential for creation and self-discovery. Similar to how an empty canvas is a space waiting to be adorned with strokes of inspiration, the emptiness within one's heart and mind serves as a fertile ground for self-reflection and spiritual growth.
